Privacy Policy

Effective September 29, 2026. This policy covers the Legends Brackets Discord application: Discord sign-in on legendsbrackets.com, and the bot that posts tournament matchups.

What the bot does not do

The bot does not read messages, direct messages, or voice. It does not store a copy of your Discord server’s member list. It does not run a live connection that listens to the server. It does not message you privately. It does not use @everyone or @here.

The only Discord action the bot takes is to post a matchup notice in one channel, when a tournament host clicks Announce in Discord on the website.

Information from Discord sign-in

If you choose Sign in with Discord, Discord asks you to approve the identify and email scopes. Legends Brackets then stores:

Your Discord user id
Your Discord username
Your Discord avatar
Your email address, if Discord provides a verified email
The bracket handle you set on the site

A signed-in session is kept in an HttpOnly cookie so the site knows it is you. The site does not receive your Discord password.

What an announcement contains

A host-triggered post includes the arena name, a link to that public bracket, and the open matchups. For each linked player the post tags their Discord user id, which Discord shows as a mention. If there is no Discord link, the post uses the bracket name only. A player waiting on an opponent is shown with TBD after their name.

That post is visible to anyone who can read the channel. Discord stores the message under Discord’s Privacy Policy. A server admin can delete it.

Why this information is used

To sign you in and attach a bracket handle to your Discord account
To show your name and avatar on brackets you enter
To tag you when a host announces a matchup you are in
To run the tournament the host created, including seating, scores, and public results

Payment details for an entry fee stay on Legends Brackets for the host to confirm payment. Those details are not sent to Discord and are not included in matchup posts.

Who it is shared with

Legends Brackets does not sell this information. Discord receives the announcement because that is how a mention is delivered. People who can see the channel can see the post. Tournament hosts can see the roster of a tournament they run, including whether a player linked Discord. Public bracket pages can show a Discord username when a player has linked an account.

How long it is kept

Account and tournament records stay in the Legends Brackets database while the account and those events exist. An announcement stays in the Discord channel until a server admin or the operator deletes it. Sign-in cookies last for the session period the site sets and can be cleared in your browser.

Your choices

You can refuse Discord sign-in. A host may still add a bracket name with no Discord tag.
You can ask the operator to remove your Discord link or delete your Legends Brackets account.
You can ask a server admin to delete a matchup post that tagged you.
Kicking the bot from a server stops future posts there. It does not delete an account already stored on the website.

There is no self-serve delete button yet. Send the request to the operator through legendsbrackets.com, or to the owner of the Discord server where the bot is installed. Include the Discord account and the bracket handle so the right record can be found.

Children

Legends Brackets is not directed at children under 13. Do not sign in with Discord if you are under the age Discord requires.

This policy can be updated by changing this page. The date at the top is the current version.
